Over 30 years of comics, TV, and movies to draw source material from, and this is what we got. Except for the theme song.

Setting: The world is has mutants on every street corner, and yet the turtles still live in the sewer for some reason, and MAGICAL forces are the main enemy.

Characters:

   > Splinter: Fat lazy fuck, who can't be bothered to remember the turtles names.
   > Mikey: The party dude
   > Raph: The party dude, and "leader" (who doesn't actually lead anything)
   > Leo: The party dude (who don't care about others)
   > Donny: The party dude, and occasional DJ
   > April: The party dude, and stereotypical blackface girl.
   > BBEG: some generic magical bad guy that looks a half step short of mustache twirling.

Story: None, not an ounce of story to be found here, just one liner after one liner, after one liner... yeah I'll stop now cause the show doesn't well.


Production: Other than the art, which is generic as fuck, and looks like every other tv show from the last 3 years, it's pretty solid, the animation is done in a one shot style, and the music in general was good, except for the theme song which was excellent.

Setting aside the theme song I give this a 2/10

This isn't even a new take on the series, a new take requires effort, you could throw this on any group of five characters, and it would be almost exactly the same.

So, here the real truth: The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sucks.
